Columbia Borough Police officers were called to a report of a person struck at Columbia Plaza in the 910-970 block of Lancaster Avenue at 12:19 a.m., according to the release and Google Maps Street View.

Officers arrived to find the victim, "who was struck by a passing car [had] suffered undetermined minor to moderate injury and was transported to the hospital by ambulance," as written in the release.

He had been putting gas in his truck with a gas can and it ran out of fuel, so he began to walk to get fuel. A car driving east on Lancaster Ave. hit him and did not stop, the victim told the officers, according to the release.

The area has street lights, crosswalks, and sidewalks, as seen on Google Maps Street View.

Parts from a black 2015-2018 Nissan Versa were collected at the scene.

"The suspect vehicle will be missing the passenger side mirror and may have other damage on the passenger side," the police said.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to call Columbia Borough Police at 717-684-7735.
